Alvaro is influenced by surrealism and his work expresses human behavior through love, sharing and pride. Alvaro is very concerned with nature and justice and believes in a future world with complete freedom. He is very involved in respect towards the Amerindian rights and believes that there is a link between south American people and nature in physical and spiritual ways.
He practices oil on canvas, pastels and produces acrylic works. Alvaro uses all kinds of techniques to express his feelings and finds that colors are very important in his works. He likes to refer to space and time in his work.
From 1971 until 2014, Alvaeo has exhibited his work in Bogota, Cartagena, Baranquilla, San Andres, Miami and France. In 2013, he participated in one of the biggest Fine Art sales in France, organized by the Boissière and Gomendio Art Gallery in Neuilly sur Seine.
