ABOUT
Making art is Anand Binda’s mission in life, which he discovered quite early. In 1973 he left Suriname for the Art Academy of the Hague, after which he immediately returned home. The magnetic pull of Suriname and its nature was felt, even from overseas. Since returning, Anand has never again left for longer than three months.
For Anand, meditation and art go hand in hand and the two reinforce each other. He feels that the majority of mankind is concerned on the outside and neglects the inside. Artists focus more on the inner workings of people. Meditation teaches you to let go and focus on the moment. It can change your perception once you let go of all of your problems. That, for Anand, is the moment that you can embrace life.
